About Me
My story
Growing up between two cultures taught me to put others first and silence my own needs.
My own healing journey — from people pleasing and self-doubt to confidence and boundaries — is what led me to become a therapist for South Asian women navigating anxiety, identity struggles, and cultural pressure.
In My Own Words
I know how vulnerable it can feel to share your story, so I'll begin with mine.
My parents immigrated to Canada when I was three months old. Growing up as a second-generation Punjabi Canadian, I often felt caught between two worlds — trying to honor my culture and traditions while also figuring out who I was in Western society.
In a collectivist family, I learned to stay quiet, please others, and put others needs before my own, which slowly resulted in me feeling invisible.
Becoming a parent was my turning point. I didn't want my son to have the same expectations and pressures thrust upon him. That's when I said, “Enough.”
I began my own healing journey. Through pursuing an education in counselling, and attending therapy, I learned to set boundaries and found my voice.
I struggled for years with body image, self-doubt, and guilt, but as I let go of everyone else's expectations, I began to feel lighter and found self worth.
Today, I am confident and at peace. This is how I truly know the power of our inner voice — through experience.
If my story resonates with you, I'd be honored to guide you on your healing journey.
Credentials
Professional background
I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
My experience as an Occupational Therapist taught me the power of small, meaningful changes and how emotional wellbeing impacts every part of our lives.
I work primarily with South Asian clients navigating the pressures of cultural expectations, identity conflicts, anxiety, stress, and relationship challenges. My approach blends evidence-based therapy with a culturally sensitive lens, and radical compassion. It brings me great joy seeing my clients rediscover their confidence and sense of self.
Outside of work, I'm a mom, daughter, sister, and dog mom. I love being outdoors, cooking, travelling, and curling up with a good book.
